Again, Bluebird's reporting says that it's in talks to raise the round and with the Founders Fund, Peter Thiel's Founders Fund expected to lead it.
So this is one of the stories that sounds like it's absurd.
And then we get a little deeper into it.
As a former dog trainer, I guess I still train dogs.
I just don't do it as the main business thing.
My question starts to say, like, are the cows in distress based on the signals that are coming from the halter, the collar?
Because I'm assuming that part of what they're being able to measure in terms of cows health would be stress signals like increased heart rate or temperature or other.
I'm not up on cow signals of anxiety, but but I would think those sorts of things.
So independent reporting on how the collars work and whether there's evidence of welfare concerns, it can deliver an electrical pulse.
The available evidence doesn't show that cows are broadly in distress from the collars.
They just look like a simple collar.
and uh we're sort of looking at um i mean these are these are animals uh who's who are ultimately likely being slaughtered right so um so distress gets to a certain place in terms of like okay so so what is typical in terms of animal welfare and care that we're doing this but
For me, then the big question became, what is the difference in setting up something, in taking something that has a visual cue of where your boundaries are, right?
There's a fence there.
You can't go in the next pasture.
And if the fence is open, you can.
You can move that.
That's a visual thing in your field.
What happens when that is invisible now?
