Yeah, so look, one of the things that we are reminded of today is that, as we say in the intelligence game, the enemy gets a vote, okay?
And war is not antiseptic, no matter how you portray it and how it looks on television, okay?
This is the inevitable result of doing what we're doing.
But let's review the facts here, and let's understand the two sides of this quite accurately, because I want to respond to these allegations of war crimes, which I think is the kind of hyperbole that is really why we don't trust Congress these days and why their ratings are what they are, because that's way over the top while we have people in theater fighting this war.
Reasonable minds can disagree about whether or not going into Iran was a good idea, okay?
I had ambivalence myself as well confronting this when we had the aircraft carriers off the coast and by the Persian Gulf.
If you believe that a nuclear-armed Iran with ICBMs
would not attack America because of some theory, let's say, of mutually assured destruction, which is what was always in place with us and the Soviets, if you think that that would work, then sure, I get the idea of saying this was a complete miscalculation.
They weren't a threat to us because if we just leave them alone, they'll leave us alone.
And that has to be calculus because they were going to get a nuke.
We know they had a missile that could go 2,000 miles that they weren't supposed to have.
A matter of time before they can hit, forget our allies in Europe, never mind them, I should say, but the east coast of America.
Never mind allies in the Middle East, not just Israel, but the Sunni allies.
