And for the first time in my life, her voice flooded out of me and it felt very natural and it had a lot of energy.
And I've written five Tuva Mudisson books now.
The fourth is out later this year, the fifth next year.
And those weeks, I write the first drafts in about four weeks.
I have a very unhealthy process that way.
And when I write the first draft, I'm in Tuva's head and they're my favorite weeks of the whole year.
I mean, there definitely is in some of the books more so than others.
Like I said, I'm a reader.
I've just been a voracious reader.
I was a very socially awkward, shy kid growing up in the middle of nowhere in the UK.
And I wasn't good with humans when I was a child, but I was good with stories.
I wanted to read and I used to take out so many books from the library.
And I'm kind of the same kid now, just grown up.
Like I'm still reading voraciously.
And what I want when I'm writing a first draft is for myself to be kind of placed inside a fictional town.
With that factory, maybe I was slightly influenced by Shirley Jackson, who is a very important writer in my life.
And I love her kind of sense of the dark and the macabre and the way she writes buildings as well.
So yeah, sense of place is hugely important to me.
It impacted a fair amount.
I would say that my natural kind of organic understanding of Swedish and Swedish traditions through every year that I live here, that's a kind of a natural progression.
