So the Prime Minister yesterday's at Contact Energy's Glenbrook site for batteries.
So they're opening up a big, the Ohura or Ohurua Battery One.
What interested me about, and this is battery storage, so this is the future of renewables energy.
What interested me about that story is if you look at, go look at it, go look at the size of it.
And all of those batteries and all of that facility and all of that land being used will supply power to homes in the event of an emergency.
This is what batteries are for, backup.
In the event of an emergency, all of those batteries will supply power to homes for two hours.
So it's not a day, not a week, not a month, just two hours.
And if you look at that and extrapolate that out and go, well, if they do 44,000 homes for two hours, how many batteries of that size, how many facilities of that size?
This is $151 million, by the way.
So look at it.
Look at the price, $151 million.
Look at what it can achieve and ask yourself the question, as I did, is that really worth it?
And is that really the future?
So how about snooker in the Hawke's Bay?
This is very exciting news.
The Hawke's Bay Open this September has announced $2,500 worth of prize money.
It's a sign of growth.
There's also a pitch to grow to sport.
