But he carried this story like a deformed hump.

He told Molly before they married that this is what had happened.

He told her the story.

And they didn't invite the parents to the wedding.

The parents didn't come to their wedding.

And they only went back to Broken Hill together sometime later when they had children of their own.

And Molly said she was expecting the most massive explosion and it was just ignored.

There wasn't ever any closeness between his mother and Colin, but they were able to have a civil relationship.

So years later when he was serving in Papua New Guinea, Colin got a letter from his father acknowledging that

apparently, that Colin had told the truth.

You know, he was right in sort of trying to repair some of the damage that had been done in that fit of peak when he'd thrashed him and kicked him out of the house.

And then some years after that, when Colin's mother died, she bequeathed him a box.

And when he opened the box, there was a note from his mother, late mother, who was no longer there,

And that to whom?

To Colin.

And all she said was, on this piece of paper, Colin, I always loved Roy.

Roy was the lodger.

And so it was this... Oh.

She had the last word and he, I think, was devastated.
