Because... Right away, I felt a hunch that something wasn't quite right.

She soon learned that she couldn't and that nobody can because their mask is so perfect that if they don't want you to see who they really are, you won't see it unless they lift the corner of the mask.

So I'd been working on the book for a couple of years and my deadline was looming.

I felt like there was something missing.

And I thought there has to be something in her past.

I looked at it and I thought, is that Liz?

Because there was a photo of 22-year-old Liz and she was in court at her boyfriend's trial.
