And it was obviously her death was absolutely devastating and literally one of the worst times of my life.

They weren't talking about her as this mad and bad, tragic figure.
Obviously, some of the red tops and stuff will always be as sensationalist as they can.
But I'd say 80% of the press was putting her where she should be as an icon and as somebody who stood up for the oppressed and had the most unbelievable talent and was greatly loved.
And in Ireland, I was there for the funeral procession in Bray.
And then I went to the Friends and Family Memorial afterwards.
And it was just an absolutely astounding day for
It was so powerful, particularly the procession.
There's 3,000 people came down to see her off.
And as her car was driving through the village and past her home, her old home that I'd been in, the one with the seven foot Virgin Mary, what really struck me was all the different types of groups that were there and the characters were there.
And there was this very powerful guard of honour there.
of all the Magdalene Laundrie survivors as the car passed her house.
You know, it was perfect to be able to see the survivors of Ireland and the church and the abuse doing a guard of honour for this mighty queen as she went on her final journey.
She's very loved I mean it was it was a very big deal when she passed and I think the whole country felt absolutely winded by it it was it was huge and I was very glad to be home actually for all of us.
Yeah, well, it was actually hot in the heels of Nothing Compares in that one of the strangest things that happened after we premiered at Sundance was I suddenly had quite a few American producers getting in touch asking me about drama, which I found slightly baffling.
