What can only be described as sexist car stickers that were being shown in the video and they were reading them out.
Things such as work on the land and drop in the hand.
Tyres are like women, no good unless they're squealing.
So things that were just really crude and really misogynistic and the content of the video
didn't necessarily make it very clear that they weren't in favor of all of this.
And it was kind of very unbecoming, I suppose, of two people who were now in the driving seat of a 2FM radio show.
They apologized for it.
And it was described at one point as virulently sexist.
I think that's really the only way to describe it.
I think that's a very fair characterization.
A real kind of case study in there are certain things that you might be able to say on a podcast, however popular that podcast is, that you get away with.
But when you're under the purview of the national public broadcaster, you can't necessarily say anything that you would like to.
They did indeed, yeah.
And it proved to be a really big success as well.
In the two and a half years that they were there, they were kind of one of the very few growth areas, I think, for 2FM at a time when the station was struggling.
And I think, to be fair, still continues to struggle a little bit as well.
At their peak, they were up over 150,000 listeners in the jail or they were really the only show on 2FM that was showing that type of growth at the time in a big afternoon drive time slot.
But then they waved goodbye.
A couple of years later, May 2024, they decided we're too busy.
We've got too much going on.
