That is good investigative journalism that you can use to spin it forward.
I think for work purposes and finding out information, the GM meetings are more beneficial because it is a smaller group and it's easier for people to talk to others, whether it's agents or executives.
And the winter meetings are so fun to me personally because it's the one time a year where every single person in the industry is in one place.
it makes for chaos i love chaos and also it's just really fun to be able to connect with people in person because we rarely get to do that most of my interactions with my colleagues are over a screen um outside of the st louis cardinals most
of my conversations with other executives and other agents are over a screen.
I like the in-person aspect of it.
I just also like
the journalist in me, loves the rumors part.
I love walking down and meeting up with an agent and being like, hey, have you heard this?
Or another team was like, can you check on this player?
Because everyone is trying to spin information.
And as a certified retired gossip girl, that is something that I really enjoy.
And it's always cool when you get something at the winter meetings and it leads to actual news.
So much of this industry, and this is a long rant that we won't get into,
Is, oh, teams have checked in on this.
I'm hearing interest in this.
Yeah, of course, teams are going to be interested in things.
But whether or not they actually act on that interest or it's going to develop into something serious, to me, that's where the story is.
So when you are able to get a lead there and able to chase it down into what is a substantial story, that the professional aspect is what I like the most about that, about the winter meetings.
Yeah, except if you cover the Cardinals last year in which they didn't do a whole move the entire offseason.
