uh finishing in fourth place I think there's a kind of feeling within football that Manchester City are going to have this ban overturned and I don't think there's too many people you know banking on finishing fifth being enough to get into the Champions League next season of course we'll have to wait and see what happens but you know from a footballing point of view yes you know it's
Clubs like Sheffield United, Wolves, Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs.
There is a bit more to play for.
Finishing fifth could be enough.
to get into the Champions League.
But my sort of gut feeling about all this has been, having watched previous cases at UEFA and FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport, what tends to happen is that whoever is the richest, whoever has the best lawyers, tends to prevail.
And I've still got a feeling that maybe Manchester City can get something out of Cass and get this ban reduced or even overturned.
If you look at the evidence...
The evidence, especially from these hacked emails, the evidence is very black and white and clear cut.
And a lot of observers say this is the worst case they've ever seen of any club breaking UEFA's financial fair play rules.
But on the other hand, if you believe what Manchester City are saying, they are being very aggressive, very vehement, saying that they've done nothing wrong and they're confident that they are going to have their names cleared.
But I suppose what could happen this summer is that the Premier League season ends and what would happen if Manchester City finished second and Manchester United finished fifth and we would have this case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the summer in Lausanne where the judges at Cass would effectively be deciding whether Manchester City play in the Champions League next season or Manchester United if United of course finish fifth.
I think it could be
It could come down to that.
It could come down to Cass deciding who's going to play in the Champions League next season.
