But at the same time, surely Pep has seen him on the training ground and knows what form he's in or not, as the case may be.
It's a difficult call to see his point.
Pep doesn't have to play Foden because Foden was really good a couple of seasons ago.
Foden has to show up every single day in training and prove that he's worthy of that selection.
Shaq, I'm not a big fan of that.
But to that point, OK, so let's say, for argument's sake, I sure don't know, Foden is one of those that's not great in training.
Foden's fault, but City aren't playing well.
Foden comes on, maybe he doesn't have that confidence, he's not playing well.
