We have to be ready to play our role if a force is required in Ukraine once a peace agreement is reached. And we have to be ready to reshape our economy with industrial policy, to stand up for Ukraine, to stand up for Europe, but most of all, to stand up for our security, because Ukraine is vital to us.

I'm prepared to consider committing British forces on the ground alongside others if there is a lasting peace agreement. But there must be a US backstop because a US security guarantee... is the only way to effectively deter Russia from attacking Ukraine again.

Prime Minister, as he knows, I met President Zelensky in Kyiv just a few weeks ago at my eighth meeting. The position since the outbreak of this conflict has been a united position across the House of supporting Ukraine.
