What would you expect an innocent person to have said if he were standing 100 feet away?

So, yeah, I would expect a person who had no involvement simply to say, gee, I don't know where the shooter was standing because I never saw the shooter.
How easy would that have been?
Of course, if he had had a lawyer present from the get-go, would you have had a case at all?
