Direction, the evidence points, and it points away from Mr. Jennings.

They were frozen in time at the Kid Rock video shoot, hours before Michelle was murdered.

And then the drop off at the park and ride.

So what happened?

This time the prosecutor opted to give the jury an idea about motive.

So he called a retired FBI profiler named Mark Safaric.

By that time, Safaric was a well-known expert.

And that picture, Safaric told the jury, told the story of an attempted sex attack.

In other words, a sex assault.

That is what must have happened in that dark parking lot, said Mr. Safaric.

There was no rape.

So what does that tell you?

Then the jury took the case.

February 17, 2009, five weeks after the beginning of that second trial.
