That's me as a coach going, well, you're telling me that the senior coach is saying the captain has to go or should go and he's the person in charge of the football program.

I just can't see any world where that would get overruled unless you're going to sack the coach there and then.

That's the only way I could see that happening, Gerard, in footy.

I'm just so used to that in a big list management decision, you know, you make it with your list manager, there's no doubt, and you make it with your heads of the football club, whether it's a CEO and your list manager and your football manager.

But if your senior coach is telling you this is not workable or this is not the right course or maybe this wasn't workable, maybe it's just not the right course, that might be somewhat different.

But I was really surprised by that.

Well, it looked like a vanity that it looked like trying to create and form a new identity of Essendon.

And that was, we're no longer going to get pushed, pushed around.

And I think that's what Andrew said.

He's in his own words was we're not going to get pushed around anymore.

So I don't know whether that's a, if that's your starting point, I'm not sure that's the right outcome you want to get though.

I mean, you're going to get pushed around.

Well,

The reality is you drive as hard a bargain as you can to get the draft picks that you need to get.

And then, you know, that's your strength.

That's your only way of strength.

And they were going to get, by the sounds of it, they were going to get three first-round draft picks or some there close.

I get it.

They were going to be back end of the draft.

But they were still going to add to a collective plan to rebuild.
