Mid-season draft is absolutely no-brainer for the AFL.

But if you're the clubs underneath, it's got some concerns.
Woodville, who last night had three players picked out of their club, now go β I think they might be on top of the ladder.
I'm not quite sure exactly where they are in the sample.
But that can put at risk their opportunities this year.
So you can understand their hesitancy towards a mid-season draft is
with nothing in return, they don't get anything.
There's no players falling out of the AFL mid-season.
You don't go and get to pick up someone that, you know, you could have if they were going to, you know, if the clubs take someone from your club, they're not going to give you one back.
So it's a bit one way.
And we all understand that because we want the dream.
Young men want the dream and young girls want the dream to be able to play AFL football now.
And so...
for those players, you need to give them that opportunity.
I think the mid-season draft is one way to do that.
And we've seen in the last couple of years, Gerard, how many get to play.
