You still think when you get that close, you know, you get to 82 minutes, 80, whatever it was, and you're still in the ballgame, very much in the ballgame.

I think McDonnell thought it best that Brian start the game and come off at half-time and then I would play for the second half.
But as I say, you still had that hope.
I think Roddy McDonald ended up playing centre-half that day and there was no preparation for him to be involved in the game whatsoever.
Well, we're just so focused on getting the result that we needed.
I think defeat never really entered the equation.
Not to be able to put our strongest side out that day certainly had a major effect on it.
Well, I don't think you ever cope with it.
And I can remember the dressing room after the game when we came in, Sonny Jardine tried to say a few words.
But what can you say?
Because bearing in mind also, we had the cup final the week after.
So that was a major thing that we needed to get back in training on Monday morning.
But that dressing room was, it was just sheer silence.
Nobody could really speak and could believe it really.
When you get to the last game of the season and you get to the last eight minutes of the season and you're still in the driving seat, it's a hard one to take.
