So that's, that's the way I look at it is the pirates need to get more production out of the guys they have.
It would have been nice to add another big time bat.
I think that there is a bit of a trade-off with Suarez given that he's a right-handed hitter.
If he's a left-handed bat, I think it's a no brainer whatsoever.
You know,
Okay, let's bring this guy in.
With a right-handed bat, I'm not sure if he's hitting 49 home runs last season.
I think I saw on StatCast, a baseball savant, that I think it would have been 42 home runs playing at PNC Park.
I'll take that.
The numbers would have gone down.
I'll take 32.
There's nothing wrong with that.
Hey, at Pirates Fest, somebody during the Pirates Management Q&A mentioned to Ben Charrington,
And a question about Suarez said, nobody in the Pirates has hit 49 home runs in a season since Ralph Kiner.
Yeah.
That's amazing when you think back how long ago Ralph Kiner played for the Pirates.
That's a big if.
And I do know that there was a meeting scheduled last Thursday between McCutcheon and Nutting.
I don't know how it went, but obviously McCutcheon on social media has kind of been crying out a bit here about the way he's been treated by the Pirates and in baseball in general, which tells you that there's probably not a great market for him.
If you look at war equaling $8 million, which is kind of like an industry standard, that McCutcheon with a 0.1 war was far below value for the $5 million he was paid.
