So it is a different mindset.
It's also quite funny to grow up in a place where the rest of your country think you're a cultural desert, but we produce a disproportionate number of Australia's great singers, disproportionate number of our great women writers,
Music is huge here.
Seriously, you can go to a concert every single night of the year in Perth.
Yeah, well, the fact that we call them the eastern states.
But I think there are things that the eastern states don't realise about us.
They possibly don't realise the dependency that we have on, say, oil and gas and mining.
And things like our government here giving Woodside permission to...
continue to pump gas out until 2070, that should have caused, I mean, it causes great, and if you see my car, I've got the big sticker in the back, you know, don't frack the Kimberley, save Scott Reef, all those sorts of things.
But for any government to give permission for a polluting business to go on until 2070 should cause ructions over the entire country.
But I don't think people in Sydney and Melbourne are aware of the consequences of some of the dreadful, I think, things that happen here.
The Kimberley is one of the last pristine places on the planet.
It's one of the few places in Australia that has had no extinctions.
And if it's frapped, you know, it's going to be ruined.
It will be ruined and it will harm the water supply for Indigenous communities.
It'll be destroying very, very sacred sites for Indigenous people.
Just the very thought of it should have people rioting in the streets in Sydney and Melbourne because it is part of...
a unique part of this country.
But I think Western Australia is sort of a bit out of sight, out of mind.
Yeah.
