I do think when Rahm stunk at the Masters this year, played a terrible first round, shot 78, still made the cut, kind of got it together.
When Bryson stunk, he kind of flames out.
He doesn't have those other tools that he can lean on.
If you told me that something bad would happen to me if Bryson wins, I wouldn't be that scared.
Rahm is sort of terrifying to me.
And I think the right side of the Rahm discourse is the side that's higher on him.
So...
Going into next week, Andy, you're talking about those guys who can ascend into another echelon with the Fitzpatrick, Cam Young, Ludwig Thier, which is fair.
Rahm shouldn't be considered with those guys because he's just accomplished way more.
But would either of you two be surprised if Jon Rahm's leading going into Sunday?
Because I wouldn't be surprised at all.
would say quail is the only real contention on that list like he wasn't contending when harmon won he although he finished fifth or whatever that year like seventh yeah yeah um that's the that's the xander year not the harmon year yeah 2024. well i will say i think he came from the wrong side i think he had a really bad wave split and still finished t7 it was not that bad of a wrong performance but can i just propose a question we always
Also, and I know I brought this up to you before, like a year or two ago, you lay Jon Rahm's resume next to Xander's.
And there is a case that Xander has done as much as Jon Rahm in the world of golf.
It's not a crazy position to take.
Xander has 18 top 10s.
and 35 major starts.
Jon Rahm has 15 and 37, like a worse top 10 rate.
They have the same number of wins.
I still think Jon Rahm, like over the long term, over the body of their career, is a slightly better player.
