Now in the playoffs, A, you're more engaged.
B, your teams aren't making quite the same types of mistakes.
They're a little more focused on not turning pucks over in bad areas.
As much as that's still, you know, it's a pressure, pressure, pressure, and you can get exploited as they did in game one.
I think for the most part, they've done a better job.
And the other thing I think that teams have to do a better job of against Freddie, and honestly, I'm surprised Montreal hasn't adjusted to this,
Man, they're making it.
way too easy for him to get out and stop pucks behind him.
Their dump-ins are predictable.
Mix in a cross-corner dump so he can't go get it.
Because the one thing that goalies will tell you when they're not busy, they stay engaged by handling the puck.
And Freddie's an exceptional puck handler.
He's really good with it at previous stops, including Toronto, for some stupid reason they didn't let him get out and handle it, even Anaheim.
Carolina, they freed him up a little bit.
He's got really good handle.
He's not the most nimble guy.
So there can be a risk of getting out late and not getting a clean stop and getting stuck behind your net.
But I just find that Montreal's made it way too easy for him to get out and stop pucks, which does two things.
It kills their forecheck.
It gets the canes back out and transition the other way.
