But it's not through the skill elements that we would, I think, associate with some of their higher-end players.
You know, they're mid-pack when it comes to east-west plays, slot-line plays, behind the net, into the slot, pop passes, breakaways, transition rush.
Like, they're mid-pack in all that stuff.
Where they are heads and shoulders above everybody else in the playoffs right now is in the gritty goals.
It's rebound goals, it's tips, it's screens and deflections.
It's broken play goals, bodies to the net chaos.
That's where Vegas is dominating the Stanley cup playoffs.
And again, like there are other moments and they're the ones that we all, they're the highlight reel ones.
And we've seen a bunch of them, enough of them, but where they're truly making a difference is in that other area.
Carolina doesn't give up much of that, in part because they don't spend much time in their own end.
They transition so well out of it, and it kind of feeds into us.
Like, Freddie Anderson is not a chaser.
He will stay back in his crease and use that big frame of his to manage that, give himself a chance on most of those saves, and so far in these playoffs, make almost all of them.
So their strength is not really, I think, what a lot of people associate with the Vegas Golden Knights, and it'll be interesting to see how that matchup's
looks against the strength of both Carolina's defending and Freddie Anderson.
I thought Montreal did a terrible puck management job in terms of dumping pucks in.
Just too many easy rims along the ice that Freddie handled behind the net.
