I was 15.

Facing them in the nets, mate.

You know, like for trainings, getting peppered.

But then getting a chance to play with a couple of them.

Yeah.

on a couple of occasions and going up and I remember my first game for counties, it was playing Northland and I was like, they had the Marshall brothers, they had Joey Jovich, they had all these NBA players playing for them because it was before the actual, um, MD season started.

And yeah, I was, uh, yeah, it was eye opening for a young fella to get all the, the abuse and everything from, um,

the old guys around the around the traps so it's intimidating sport hey like when you're out there and you're out there and you're by yourself oh i think i'd probably barely that i was three or four like um and yeah they're into you yeah yeah so you gotta be able to handle that and as a young kid you're kind of going um you know you just gotta hold your nerve how did you go oh i scraped give a few runs yeah i think in that first one um and uh but

I only played probably the couple of years.

I scored 101 game when I was maybe 17 against a team at a tournament.

So look, I love my cricket.

Yeah.

My high school, I think it was for Karaka was 190.

wow off maybe 140 balls and um yeah it's awesome i got a few um few hundreds love the game yeah yeah i probably would have i put more effort into my cricket than i did rugby at that time at that time kind of around that um high school high school age so why did you end up as a rugby player yeah yeah it's a it's a weird one i don't know i think um

My last year at school had a big impact on me.

Like, I made New Zealand secondary school's rugby.

Oh, yeah, yeah.

Like, rugby was awesome.

I loved it.
