It was scary, man.

I remember, I think, I don't know if it was that year or maybe the next year, my first trip with Richie and we're in the same 20, 22, 23.

And I went to Wellington, you know, you get your room list printed out and passed you in the bus.

And so I checked my room list and I was like, oh shit, Richard McCall, you know, laughing.

Oh damn.

How much older was he than you?

I don't know, he was probably five years older.

Oh, was he five years older?

Probably five years older.

Okay.

So...

Yeah, you know, like he's all black captain by this point, I guess.

Oh, funner out, yeah.

And it's only my first few games for Canterbury.

And so, yeah, I think, you know, lie down, get into the room and offer him his bed, whichever bed he likes.

And I probably didn't say boo, so I was like quiet as.

So I was like just sat there and didn't say anything.

And Richie being Richie didn't say anything either.

So like...

You know, we both just sat there and then finally, you know, I think it was like, oh, should we go for dinner?
