In the Texas Democratic primary election for the U.S.
Senate, the Associated Press has called the race for state senator James Tallarico.
He defeated Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.
Primary results were slowed because of confusion in Dallas County, Crockett's home county.
Hundreds of voters were reportedly turned away for showing up at the wrong polling site.
There's no winner yet called.
For the Texas Republican contest for the Senate, it's projected to go to a runoff in late May.
Incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn will face Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the nomination.
And as Cornyn showed last night, the rivalry between him and Paxton is bitter.
Paxton has faced a criminal indictment for securities fraud, allegations of adultery, and he survived impeachment by the Texas State House.
The Texas State Senate acquitted him.
Paxton says Cornyn is a weak Republican and he's more closely aligned to President Trump.
In North Carolina, a Democratic congressional primary remains too close to call.

Former Governor Roy Cooper won the Democratic primary.
He will face the former chair of the Republican National Committee, Michael Whatley, who won the GOP Senate primary.
