Somebody asked me a question.

I said, did we go in because of Israel?

And I said, you asked me that follow up.

And I said, no, I told you this had to happen anyway.

We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action.

We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces.

And we knew that if we didn't preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties.

I used to.

I would say before I ever got into politics and before I ran for Congress, yes.

I grew up with a dad that was always in a hurry.

We lived on a farm in a ranch, and he would tell me, Christy, get to town and get those parts and get back here as fast as you can.

So in our family, yes, had quite a few speeding tickets.

But when I ran for Congress, it was quite an issue.

People would say, you know, how can you write the law when you knowingly break the law?

And that really resonated with me.
