I had gone to that drama school to be pretending that I wanted to be a teacher when I really wanted to be an actor.
But I was too scared to say I wanted to be an actor.
And so I kind of got in there under false pretenses.
And they spotted those false pretenses pretty quickly.
And then I got sent off.
Their mistake...

My godfather said, no, this isn't going to do.
You can't be, because I was working, I did all these jobs, you know, sort of one minute I was a waitress, then I worked in Harvey Nicks, then I, you know, I was just sort of doing things and I really wasn't a happy person at all.
And he sort of scooped me up and said, right, you're going here.
There's your ticket.
You're going to there.
You're going to look after those children for a bit.
So he sent me off as an au pair.
And, you know, that was the beginning of my life in France.
