Usually it's a widow, but ready?
Help, help, help.
And sound the alarm.

He says he met someone a few months ago and was set to go meet her on a date 100 miles away.
He showed up, but she didn't, saying she had a family emergency and wondered if he could send her some money to help her daughter get out of the hospital.

He sent her a $500 Apple gift card.
So it goes.
You can imagine that wasn't the end of it.
She managed to talk him into sending more and more with the promise of meeting up.
So he kept in touch.
All in Texas, never in person, never a phone call.
