But now I think AI is this kind of shiny novelty.
It looks very powerful.
It has tons of money being poured into it.
And so now that's becoming the arbiter of new cultural forms and new cultural distribution.
And that worries me almost more than social media because at least social media wasn't actually making the art.
It wasn't actually generating the images and sounds that you experienced.
Whereas now AI can also not just recommend something but literally make what you are demanding at a moment's notice.
It's like a substitution of slop for maybe more human artistry.
I think it's still an advantage.
Like taste can help you move between classes.
It can help you make money.
You can commodify your taste and your vision.
And the internet has helped a lot of people do that.

And the internet was what formed our taste and it's where we could express ourselves and gain clout basically and translate that clout into money and careers and everything.
taste was what was supposed to be human.
Like it was supposed to be what we cultivated by ourselves independently within our own hearts and minds and like, you know, built our senses of self and then use that to exert ourselves in the world.
And the AI industry adopting that is just so offensive and
It depends on what you're trying to shortcut.
There are things that might help you to shortcut, like, I don't know, filling out an Excel spreadsheet.
