Sheer panic in Bondi.

A deadly act of terror at Bondi Beach.

I can't, yeah, I honestly can't imagine.

We're going to be talking to Wayne and Vanessa.

They were at the Hanukkah by the sea event when this broke out and they lost their three-year-old daughter, Gigi.

When I say lost, I mean like lost sight of her.

Yes.

And could not find her.

And then if you listen to their kind of report of it when it made Sky News, people were listening to this and imagining what it must have been like for them.

Yeah, I had a friend who was also in the vicinity and one of the thoughts she had at the time was just like, why is this taking so long?

Why am I not hearing a siren?

Where's the help?

When you guys were on the ground, what were you like – because if you're just lying on the ground and you're protecting your daughter, that must have just been – because people who weren't even close to it, they were at the south end of the beach, said that it sounded like the gunman was right there.

So those shots travel like the sound travels.

It's really hard to get a gauge on where exactly he is.

Did you have an awareness?

Could you see him and where was he in relation to where you guys were?

And were you thinking of running or just staying lying down?
