The reality is that's just a myth.
It's not true and it's damaging.
I always say creativity is a team sport because life is a team sport.
You were not designed to do any of this stuff on your own.
And even if you did, what would be the point of it all?
If you made all of this stuff, you achieved everything, but you don't have other people to share that with and you don't have other people who went on that journey with you, that sounds boring and sad and lonely.
And I think that when you realize, oh, maybe the reason I haven't solved this problem is because I, for some reason, convinced myself that I have to do it myself.
Yeah, that's probably part of it.
Part of the solution might just be in the head of somebody else who you haven't been vulnerable enough to ask.
And you haven't been open enough to say, Hey, man, I'm really... I'm stuck on this thing.
What am I not seeing here?
And so that's that creativity is a team sport thing.
Every idea needs a crew.
And if you're stuck on something, it might just be because part of the solution is inside the head of somebody else.
Yeah.
So you mentioned earlier that I have this book, How to Host a Viking Funeral.
And so what that came out of was, I just turned 40.
10 years ago, when I was about to turn 30, I was talking to my mom and she was like, Hey, if you want to have some friends over and have a party at our house, because my house wasn't as good for entertaining.
And she's like, you can do that because my parents live out in the country.
You could have a bonfire or something.
