Sad.
You know, I can look at some of the jobs we did and it was interesting.
We did one.
He was a young boy.
He was only about eight.
And we just knew we didn't have enough, but we just knew something wasn't right.
And he wouldn't disclose.
And no matter how much we sat in the interview room and, you know, sat down and talked to him and coloured and all that, we just, we weren't getting anywhere.
And, you know, they're the hard ones.
There wasn't enough for us to do anything.
Docs did their part, but they're the ones that were hard, or even just going to picking up the babies, the cockroach-infested nappies, those type of worlds where you just go, oh, my Lord, I can't believe that this is happening.
Absolutely.
That was the hardest part about it, is that you wanted to solve everything.
I mean, there was a big cult thing happening down the Illawarra at that time, more down Nowra, and my boss and I, we were working on it, but we still didn't have anyone to say that he was doing this, the offender was doing this to the children.
We just knew everything.
And we would go to and we'd sort of go, okay, well, we'll follow them here.
And we just didn't have enough.
And, you know, years later, yes, he did get arrested and, you know, the Child Protection did a great job and were able to, you know, collate all that information.
But we just, at the beginning, we had nothing.
So it's that frustrating part that you knew that that is happening.
