I love that so much.
I have not tried this tactic, but maybe I will because I have four children and at any given time, at least one of them is probably crying.
We're happy in our house, I swear.
I am a big proponent of when a child is crying.
I will tell them, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
It's my turn.
No, my turn.
Okay, your turn.
And then they do it again.
And then I will say, oh, okay, that's it.
Okay, now it's my turn.
Your turn.
And we will literally pass it back and forth until I can get them to think it's funny.
First of all, cathartic, because it feels nice to let a few cries go, even if they're playful cries yourself in that moment.
But it does disrupt the tantrum.
Whatever you can do to redirect in those moments is ideal.
If you're not going to try Jessica, please try passing the cry, because I want to know how it works for you.
And last scroll, real ones, you know I'd never lie to you, but I will lie to my children.
And so will this mom who actually might be a genius.
