I've been talking to people about this, and people are typically in San Francisco so pro-Sam Altman that I have been shocked to hear so many people coming to me saying that this feels like complete bullshit. Data center measuring contest is like the key word here. They're all just trying to say my data center is bigger. And I even get told this as a journalist, like when I bring this up to PR people of Frontier AI Labs, they're like, well, we have a giant data center in the Midwest. I think it is a lot of PR. It's to show we are working on the biggest and best next thing.
