Civil rights leader and former presidential candidate Jesse Jackson died this morning at the age of 84, according to a statement from his family and the organization he founded, the Rainbow Push Coalition.
President Trump acknowledged Jackson's death in an online post today.

Southern Command says it conducted lethal strikes on two vessels in the eastern Pacific and on a third in the Caribbean.
It says 11 people were killed.
Southern Command describes the men as narco-terrorists on vessels that were traveling along known narco-trafficking routes.
Critics argue the administration has not provided evidence that the boats or individuals targeted were engaged in drug trafficking.
The Department of Homeland Security remains largely shut down.
Congress has yet to pass a funding bill.
