But, like, hopefully it's nothing to do with that and this is entirely moot.
But I just thought that that was such a heavy collision that, like, if that's not... If that's not the sort of hit that a goaltender needs to go through the protocol for, what is?
With players, though, we have a fair bit of science about the really dangerous contact in terms of
concussive episodes tends to be secondary.
So head on ice, head on glass, as opposed to the hit itself, generally speaking.
But yeah, I mean, I think we probably do need stricter standards for the players too, to be totally honest with you.
And it's hard because it's playoff hockey and no one wants it.
But no, it has to be quality of life.
We have to be thinking through CTE prevention and how can we...
be enjoying professional hockey without worrying that.
I just think at the end of the day, and I think your experience illustrates this, like,
If it's on the players, if it's on the teams, they're going to play fast and loose with it.
If you care about this, it needs to be independently done based on an objective and rigidly adhered to strategy that is not adjusted for the stakes of the game.
And we all just have to accept that this is going to be the cost of enjoying this sport in a way that doesn't result in...
you know, a huge proportion of players who compete at high levels, you know, having CTE and having later in life complications.
Like, I think that's the conversation.
Anyway, I didn't mean to steer this in this direction.
It's come a long way for sure.
I also think though that like as we're going to get more information on how prevalent, you know, some of these...
Like, what proportion of professional hockey players, whether they've had concussive episodes or not, end up with CTE, right?
