And we wish it wasn't the case, but with every decision, they prove that they're actually not working for ordinary people, they're working for their donors.
These people that give them money to run reelection campaigns to keep them in power so they can keep the status quo in place.
So I think Australians deserve better.
And that's what the Greens are here to say.
We would tax the 1%.
We would tax the big corporations to give people things they need to have a decent life, like functional hospitals and schools, like solar and battery on your roof, like free childcare, like putting dental into Medicare, wiping your student debt.
All the good things that as a rich country, we should deserve, we should have.
I've not clocked that.
No.
But certainly the Greens have been pushing for adding dental into Medicare.
Yeah.
And we got a change about 15 years ago that said if you're a little one under eight, you can have your dental care on Medicare.
That's great.
But it's not just kids that need their teeth attended to.
If you don't fix the teeth, then the rest of your health can get worse and then you have to go to hospital and that's underfunded as well.
So it is appalling that rather than tax gas companies to raise revenue and rather than say, no, Donald Trump, we're not going to buy more of your weapons for $53 billion, we're going to make savings off the back of people with a disability.
So this government has cut the NDIS by the most amount that any social services program has been cut this century.
$7 billion, they started this thing and now they're like, oops, we didn't realise there were people that actually needed help.
Well, you're bad for not realising the extent of the need and it is your job to actually work for people.
You are the government, babe, it's not that hard.
