Hi.

I know, stranger danger.

There you go, I know.

I didn't know anybody.

I came home to the town that I was born and raised in, but I hadn't seen my family in almost a decade.

And I didn't know what to do because the only thing I had ever done was make sure that my mom was okay.

She got a master's degree in nursing and she's been working for the last eight years as a critical care nurse with an exemplary record.

Unfortunately, my marriage did not pan out, so I was a single mom with two children that I needed to support.

I didn't want them to grow up with the kind of fear and anxiety that I had.

I think that I came out on the other side and everything I thought I would never have, a career, an education, kids, I have.

I'm very proud of her.

To me, Haley is the silver lining.

You never have to stay in a situation that you don't feel safe or in a situation that you question.

You have a right to feel safe.

And you have a right to whatever future you're willing to make.
