You don't feel it.
And when you get out there, your adrenaline takes over everything.
And, you know, we're all aware of what happened.
It was a battle right down to the last book of the game.
So, you know, it was just... The occasion itself was wonderful.
The victory was...
was a remarkable, something that we probably dreamt of, we never thought we could achieve it, you know, because Wexford, as you say, hadn't been successful since 68, so it was 26 or 28 years prior to that, you know, and, you know, for that occasion to happen for us, just the feel of being All-Ireland champions,
It was probably the greatest feeling you'll ever get on a sporting field in the world.
You know, you're just on cloud nine.
You don't know what to do.
You don't even feel your feet on the ground.
And you meet friends, as I said.
I met my sisters, but I met friends coming from the hill, 16, from the rail and tried to get from there across to the Hogan stand.
It probably took me 15 minutes, you know, because of the people hugging you and kissing you, whatever it was, you know, just...
You were in awe, you know, you were just, you were on cloud nine.
You don't know how to, but I was just wanting to get over.
I wanted to be part of maybe getting a chance to get up and lift that cup to see maybe a photograph in the Irish Independent or somewhere the following day to see Larry O lift the Liam McCarty, something you dreamt of, of a young kid.
So it was just a wonderful occasion and it was an amazing journey.
And I love the players of today and the people of Wexler today, the young people that are born, was born after 96.
to get the feeling that what we got out of it for them to cherish the moments that we got from hurling and winning because unfortunately at the moment it don't look like we're in a position you know at the moment to win an All-Ireland compared to the way Limerick and other teams are but yeah it was a wonderful journey and you know there's many many journeys after that that we had
