So on the back of that solid update, Metcash shares up 7% today.
It's been a while since I've spoken about my favourite food, which is chicken.
Luckily, today I have a reason to because poultry producer Ingham's hosted its Investor Day presentation and also provided a trading update.
So, while trading conditions remain challenging, it's still reaffirmed its full year earnings guidance and reported a
higher group poultry volumes and selling prices for the first nine months of the year.
So this is despite dealing with the rising costs of fuel, packaging, feed for its chickens and other operating costs as well.
But the business is still tracking well despite these headwinds.
And it's also focusing on controlling its costs and other strategic planning that will optimise its operating model.
So essentially, it's controlling what it can control in light of the macro uncertainty.
So a solid update today, and that sent its shares about 7% higher.
You mentioned a little earlier that financials were under some weight.
So we are seeing the four major banks falling, but there's one falling more than the others, and that's ANZ.
And the reason is because it's trading ex-dividend today.
So this is the cutoff date for those investors eligible to receive a dividend payment.
They're set to pay 83 cents per share to eligible shareholders on the 1st of July.
But the fact that it was trading ex-dividend has weighed on its share price.
It's down around 2.5% today.
Yeah, there's certainly a few things to watch.
So tonight we're expected to see the Fed chair nomination vote for Kevin Walsh.
So we'll see if that does go ahead.
