Outdoor advertising company Omedia received a takeover offer from private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners today, valuing the company at nearly $750 million or $1.40 per share, which is a 65% premium to its last closing price.
Now, there's a lot of conditions that came with the offer, but for now, Omedia is considering and evaluating the proposal and will update shareholders in due course.
Now, at its best levels, its shares soared nearly 50%, but
pulled back a little to trade about 40% higher as we speak ahead of the close.
All right.
Looking ahead from here, US futures are pointing to a small lift when the market opens up tonight, but that's ahead of some very interesting things happening.
Of course, we have the US Fed handing down their interest rate decision tonight.
They're largely expected to keep rates steady.
And then we have four of the magnificent seven handing down their latest results from Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft.
Remember, that will be after the US market shuts.
So we'll have to watch and see how these stocks trade in after hours trade.
And that could certainly impact what happens on our market locally tomorrow as well.
Absolutely.
And of course, Woolies out with his quarterly tomorrow as well.
