I mean, isn't that how you'd react if Quinta Brunson called you?
Everyone's just waiting for Quinta Brunson to call them.
But he wrote the movie for them.
Which, okay, let's get into that because this is what people loved about it when they first heard of Office Romance is that Brett Goldstein has been very open that he has a crush on J-Lo and admires her a lot.
And also...
Of course you do, sir.
You have eyes.
That's fine.
People loved him for that.
He wrote this movie for her so they could be on-screen lovers.
Great.
We love that.
What a beautiful build-up.
I did think that people were going to be more invested in them being an off-screen romance because people are very obsessed with the fact they could be in love.
They haven't even played into that space a little bit, which I think shows great restraint on their part because that would have been such a slam dunk for this movie.
But then Jayla's probably like, I've had 30 years of people...
dissecting my love life I'm not doing that right now she's like watch my movie or don't and I know you all will so true so she won that round but all through their like press interviews and everything they've been very much like we're just friends of course we love each other though and he's like look at her who wouldn't be in love with her so like toying the line but not really diving in so that all sets up a great movie experience when I sat down to watch this I had hope in my heart
it quickly went away.
And I was like, Tina Burke, who's our co-host on The Spill, messaged me when she knew I was halfway through watching the movie at home, like, how's it going?
And I sent back, JLo's too good for this movie and so am I. And I think I quite stand by that.
