I love that everyone debates the theme, but most people are unsure what it is.

I feel like Sarah Jessica Parker is the only one who really goes in on the theme.

Yes.

We haven't heard if she's going this year, but she is usually on the red carpet, the Met, and she puts so much time and effort.

She reads, like, books.

She interviews people.

She goes deep on it.

And then other people are just like...

well, they said something blah, blah, blah, garden, so I'm a flower.

Yeah.

Which, fair enough.

And then hers is like, oh, you know, the lace from my dress mimics the poem that was written from this year of blah, blah, blah.

It separates the true artists.

I love that.

So this year's theme is costume art, which is named after the new exhibition.

And the dress code for the Met Gala is fashion is art.

And so on the invitation it said, guests are invited to explore their relationship to fashion as an embodied art form and celebrate depictions of the dressed body throughout art history.

I'm going to say five people are going to do that last bit and everyone else is going to go.

Art just means that you could really go with a very sort of

avant-garde, crazy, over-the-top.
