Tragically for David and Kelly Searing, this stretch of beach south of Bob Hall Pier has become a place of nightmares.

That was always one of my biggest fears of him drowning.

I couldn't explain it.

I just always had that fear, and I was always extra cautious anytime he was around the water.

David, Kelly, and Laura are interviewed at the Corpus Christi Police Department before returning to their homes later that night.

At this point, no charges have been filed.

It was just a tragic accident.

That night I lost what was most important to me and I wasn't really in the mood to be talking.

My life just didn't seem to matter anymore without that.
