After meeting China's Xi Jinping for double their scheduled time, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said they made what he calls really good progress.

Starmer says he also raised China's treatment of Uyghur minorities and the jailing of pro-democracy campaigner Jimmy Lai, who is a U.K.

citizen.

Neither leader publicly mentioned President Trump, but Chinese state media say Xi called for major powers to adhere to international law or else the world would regress into a, quote, jungle.

Starmer's the first U.K.

leader to visit China in eight years.
