President Trump has already expressed anger at the UK for granting the US only limited access to British military bases during this war.
And only after Iran retaliated against British allies in the Gulf did UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer allow the US to use British bases, but for defensive operations only.
Now Trump is demanding the UK and four other countries, China, Japan, South Korea and France, send warships to the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, the UK Ministry of Defence says the British government is, quote, discussing with our allies and partners a range of options to ensure the security of shipping in the region.
