So it's not like if Braxton Jones is the starting tackle week one, it's because he doesn't believe he can get the job done.
He earned it.
He's already shown you he's willing to go out here and take an undrafted free agent and make him the starting left tackle over someone he doesn't deem qualified.
It sounded like the truth is what it sounded like.
It didn't sound like coach speak.
It sounded like a dude who's letting you know, this is what I think.
But at the end of that,
when he talks about it being in the building, there is a path for someone already in the building.
The traits is what he said.
There's a path for someone who is already at Hallis Hall to get to starting left tackle.
He talked about consistency, he talked about the traits, and he talked about it hasn't been good enough yet.
That's what he talked about.
But there's a path for Braxton Jones, maybe somebody else, but Braxton Jones is who I'm focused on right now,
To get there, because I haven't seen healthy Braxton Jones yet.
This is a guy who played last year, had a handful of starts, but he wasn't good enough.
But now he's got a full offseason, a full healthy offseason to get it together, if you will.
And he talked about Darnell Wright and maybe a future left tackle that was drafted.
It takes time.
Darnell Wright wasn't all pro his first or second year.
It takes time.
