the whole team is struggling, you're not scoring runs, and you're the guy that just signed the big contract, that's a lot of heat that's on him.
And let's keep that pop psychology cap on, if we can, Jim Deshaies, and specifically look at the pitching side of this, because there has been the part where the pitching relative to the injuries that they've had this year, they have been excellent.
that they have managed to survive.
But latelyβand it's not justβwe could talk about Jameson Tyone.
We absolutely should because that's the latest injury.
Assad was great.
But what I want to ask you specifically is what is going on with Shota Imanaga?
Have you seen anything differently out of him in his last few starts as evidence as to what might be going wrong with him lately?
And then the other guy that I want to ask you about is Edward Cabrera, because he gave up eight runs in his return on Friday.
It was his return, but I just don't think he's having the season in general that I thought he would have with the Cubs, even aside from the injury.
So what's going on with Imanaga and Cabrera?
I think there's a crisis of confidence that happens, right, when you give up the long ball and you can almost see it on his face.
I think he's just kind of lacking a little confidence right now.
you know, hopefully they can work with and whether it's pitch selection, you know, pitch shape, whatever it is, um, you know, they need to get him headed in the right direction.
He was so close last time out there, you know, that would come backers.
If he leaves it alone, they get a double play, they get out of the inning and the narrative completely changes.
Um, but having said that, you still have to get out after the, you know, you make that mistake.
I don't know if I got in his head a little bit, the fact that he, he realized he made a bad play, um,
But, yeah, it's been a little bit of a disappointment for sure.
