And during the chaos that followed, she said the knife fell.

She kicked it away.

She directed another man to remove it from the immediate area.

He did that.

Again, under cross-examination, she was shown a photograph of the knife recovered from a green area near the scene up by the Garden of Remembrance, and she said she was 100% sure it was the knife that she saw that day.

She described it as a non-serrated carving knife, adding that she was very aware of the damage because of the work she does, very aware of the damage a blade of that size could cause, particularly to children.

This was a man called Oisín Murphy.

He was the first prosecution witness called yesterday morning and he described how he was cycling home on his lunch break and as he cycled by Parnell Square East, an area that was very familiar to him, he said he noticed a line of children and a man walking past them.

And what caught his attention, he said, was that the man suddenly turned around after passing the last child in that line.

He told the jury that he then produced a very large knife, which up until that point, as far as he was concerned, had been concealed.

And in one movement, he said this man grabbed a child before repeatedly stabbing toward her neck and chest area.

And at one point during his evidence, as he was explaining what he saw, he stood up in the witness box to demonstrate.

He showed the jurors a downward stabbing motion directed at the neck and chest area.

And he said that

An adult pulled the first child away from danger.

We now know that adult is one of Mr. Boushkar's alleged victims, a woman called Leanne Flynn, a childcare worker who has already given evidence before the jury.
