And why is it unpleasant?
But isn't that, just on the question of the Klan stuff, and particularly appealing to certain ethnicities, political parties have always done that, haven't they?
It's a time of memorial.
I mean, the Conservative Party used to be known as the Church of England at Prayer.
It's always been true that different ethnicities, different religions have tended to have particular political preferences.
Why is that illegitimate for Muslims to do?
Catholics used to vote for the Labour Party.
We've seen the Conservative Party in recent elections have particular adverts aimed at British Hindus, for example, or British Indians.
Birmingham politics has created some characters over the years.
As I say, it's a city with very complicated politics.
I don't think that there is anyone more colourful, more characterful, to put it at its perhaps most generous, than the man we've already been inevitably somehow circling around.
And it's this guy, Ahmed Yacoub.
Now, particularly loyal listeners and viewers might actually remember that we ourselves have previously interviewed Mr. Yacoub when he was standing in the Birmingham Ladywood constituency at the 2024 general election.
Here's a little bit of our exchange where, among other things, I was asking him why he was such a strong supporter of Andrew Tate.
You also said in the post that the one person I rate is Andrew Tate.
Do you still rate Andrew Tate?
Do you still admire him?
Now, Yacoub actually came within a hair's breadth of winning in Ladywood, which was at that time one of the safest seats in the country, Labour seats in the country.
He came within 3,000 votes of defeating the now Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood.
He is not himself eligible to actually stand in these elections, or at least he's not putting himself forward for these elections, I should say, because he is currently involved in a court case involving alleged money laundering.
